Georgetown Home Remodeling That Connects Character and Daily Life
A Georgetown home can have details worth preserving and rooms that no longer support the way you live. BST Design & Build helps homeowners consider both through kitchen and bathroom renovation, whole-home remodeling, basement improvements and feasible additions. Thoughtful planning connects the desired interior with the existing building and the reviews the proposed work may require.

Consider the building beyond the room being renovated

Kitchen Remodeling
Start with the room’s proportions and connections. A kitchen does not need an oversized island to feel generous; thoughtful storage, usable preparation space and a clear route through the room can be more valuable. Consider how cabinetry, lighting and appliances relate to existing openings and adjacent spaces, including the practical route for any proposed ventilation.

Bathroom Renovation
A bathroom can feel calm and complete through well-judged proportions, useful storage and precise material relationships. Review fixture locations, plumbing routes and lighting before finalizing the look. We help connect the desired finish with the practical work needed to support it, rather than assuming the existing room can accommodate every idea.
Whole-Home Remodeling
For a wider renovation, identify the architectural details to retain alongside the rooms that need rethinking. Circulation, openings and the relationship between old and new materials deserve one coordinated plan. BST manages architecture, engineering and permitting coordination for the agreed work, including structural assessment where the proposed changes require it.

Basement Renovation
A lower level should be assessed as an existing space before its future use is promised. Moisture, ceiling conditions, access and building systems can shape the proposal. BST coordinates the appropriate specialists; a bathroom, bedroom or egress improvement is considered only after property review and the applicable requirements are understood.
Home Additions
An addition should be evaluated for its relationship to the existing building as well as the space it creates. Visibility, scale, exterior details and property constraints may affect the design and review path. BST coordinates architecture, engineering and permitting around a feasible scope; approval, size and timing are not assumed in advance.
For properties subject to Old Georgetown review, exterior changes associated with an interior renovation can also need review. Consult the Commission of Fine Arts guidance and confirm the requirements for the specific proposal. Old Georgetown review guidance.
Does an interior remodeling project always avoid historic review?
No. The proposed work must be considered in full, including any exterior equipment, vents, windows or doors. The review path depends on the property and scope; an interior project should not be assumed to be exempt because of its name.
Does BST have a Georgetown office?
